The Arrival of Jesus
Prophecy About the Birth of Jesus
Mary, a virgin engaged to a man named Joseph, was visited by the angel Gabriel. The angel informed Mary that she would conceive a child by the Holy Spirit and that the child would be the son of God. Mary, having faith, accepted this divine message.
Joseph, initially troubled by Mary's pregnancy, had a dream in which an angel reassured him that Mary's child was conceived through the Holy Spirit and that he should proceed with their marriage. Joseph obediently took Mary as his wife.

As the time for the baby's birth drew near, Caesar Augustus, the Roman emperor, ordered a census to be taken. Joseph and Mary, being of the lineage of King David, had to travel to Bethlehem, David's hometown, to be registered.
Upon their arrival in Bethlehem, Joseph and Mary found no place to stay because the town was crowded with others who had also come for the census. They were eventually offered shelter in a stable, where Mary gave birth to her son, Jesus.
In the fields outside Bethlehem, shepherds were tending their flocks. Suddenly, an angel appeared to them, announcing the birth of the long-awaited Messiah in Bethlehem. The angel directed the shepherds to find the baby lying in a manger.
The shepherds hurriedly went to Bethlehem and found Mary, Joseph, and the newborn baby, just as the angel had described. Overwhelmed with joy, they spread the news about the child's birth to others, praising and glorifying God.
The Guidance of the Stars
Meanwhile, in the East, wise men, or Magi, saw a unique star that signified the birth of a king. Guided by the star, they journeyed to Bethlehem, seeking the newborn king of the Jews. Upon finding Jesus, they presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
The birth of Jesus represents the incarnation of God's love and grace, as well as the beginning of a remarkable journey that would eventually lead to his ministry, teachings, crucifixion, and resurrection—central events in Christianity.
